HARD WORK BEATS TALENT
WHEN TALENT DOESN'T WORK HARD.
TRAINING JUNIOR CHAMPIONS
For nearly 20 years now, I have had the privilege to work with junior golfers. And I take this role very serious. There is nothing golf related that I enjoy more and take more pride in than helping juniors. But it is not just helping them learn how to play golf, but helping them reach their potential and help them understand that they can accomplish even more if they are willing to commit to continuous learning and hard work.
My past successes with junior players have been based on four simple principals: unconditional support and love from the parents, total commitment from the player, total commitment from the coach, and all participants respecting each other.
Coach Mark Polich
"Our daughter Ailis was 8 years old when she started playing golf. It was apparent early on that she had a talent for the game. We quickly decided that we needed a coach to help her along. Most coaches we met with seemed more interested in selling us a package of lessons at a "cheap rate" rather than teach our daughter the game. From the very first time we met him, Mark Polich made it clear that he wanted to teach Ailis the game; and this process takes time and it is not cheap. Mark's lessons and instruction have taken Ailis from a good player to a great player who loves to practice and play. Over the past two years, Ailis's golf game has improved to the point where she has won half of the tournaments she has entered and rarely finishes out of the top 3. But more importantly, she has grown to love practicing as well as playing and competing. Put simply, she loves the game of golf now more than ever. We believe this is largely a result of Coach Polich's formula of making golf and learning and competing fun for Ailis. A year ago we moved from Tucson to Phoenix which has many professional golf instructors. We have not considered changing instructors. Instead we make the drive to Tucson a couple times a month because we feel his product is the best in the State of Arizona and worth the drive, time, and money."

"Coach Polich has a unique ability to adapt his teaching style to match the way the student learns best which produces almost immediate and lasting results. His playing experience as well as his incredible success as a high school coach was invaluable in helping Jessica learn to manage her game on the course. In the three years Jessica has been working with Coach Polich, her golf game has flourished. Her senior year in high school she was the State Runner Up. The summer after she graduated from high school she shot an amazing score of 62 in the Tucson City Junior Championship. Jessica's rapid improvement attracted the attention of several college coaches and she was offered a golf scholarship at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Arizona. And then, in the NAIA National Championship in Florida in May Jessica finished Runner-Up, a single shot from first place. We know that all the wonderful things Jessica has experienced in golf so far as well as her dramatic improvement are the result of her hard work and the help from Coach Polich. THANK YOU!"

"In four short years of coaching, you helped Laura achieve incredible success on the golf course. She won the individual State Championship twice, was named the Southern Arizona Player of the Year twice and led her high school team to the team State Championship two years in a row. And then you helped her (and us) navigate the college recruiting process, which was something we were totally overwhelmed with. And with your help, Laura's undergraduate education is 100% paid for. But you taught her so much more. You taught her how to deal with the highs and lows on the golf course and in life. You helped her develop an incredible work ethic and indispensable people skills. Thank you for everything you did for Laura, as well as our other 3 daughters who also you also coached. The experiences and opportunities you have presented them will last a lifetime. You are an incredible coach and you have always gone beyond our expectations."

We wanted send a note to thank you for all the work you did with our daughter, Sage. You were able to take a 14 year old girl with no golf experience and instill in her the confidence to improve and compete at increasingly higher levels. You are able to share your passion for the game of golf with juniors in a way that motivates them to work hard and achieve goals, an amazing ability in light of all the distractions that abound around our children. You played golf at a very high level and now teach golf at an even higher level: we don't believe that can be done unless you truly love what you do. We respect what you have done for Sage as an individual, always encouraging her to not settle for good when better was in reach, both in golf techniques and mental attitude. And with Sage's hard work and your help, Sage was able to gain a Division I full athletic scholarship to Gonzaga. Thanks Coach Polich!
